SCENE 3
Alan serves Telly his order. Telly says he’ll enjoy his pickle the most because he wouldn’t have gotten it if Alan hadn’t hung up the sign. But, when Telly looks at the sign, he thinks about triangles, which confuses Alan. Telly tells Alan he wants his sandwich cut into triangles. Another customer comes in and Alan tells him he’ll be a minute. Alan tends to Telly’s needs and even folds his napkin into a triangle, but then Telly sees all his triangle stuff and wants Alan to make his plate into triangles. Alan shows that the plate is glass and can't be cut, but a paper plate can.

SCENE 7
Telly now has a bologna sandwich, milk, a pickle, a triangle napkin, triangle plate, a party hat, a box of baseball cards, a set of jacks, confetti, accordion music, a tuba player, dancing cows, a dancing elephant and penguin. Alan wonders what more could he want, until Telly realizes that the dancing made him hot and he wants a fan. Alan refuses to get him a fan, but Telly points out the sign and demands a fan, which sends Alan off the deep end and he sends everyone out of the store so he make some renovations: taking down the sign. He admits he made a mistake, which surprises Telly, ("But Alan, you're a grown-up!"), but Alan points out that even adults make them and he made a "whopper". He explains to Telly that the sign was meant to give him what he wanted in the first place – his sandwich. Telly finally tastes his sandwich and enjoys it. The customer comes back to order something to go – a sandwich like Telly’s, a party hat, triangle plate and a side order of dancing penguins. Alan is shocked, but the customer reveals he’s just kidding.
