[[Rosita]] tries to use her wings, but just can't seem to fly. [[Maria]] tries to help her understand that not everyone can fly. They visit the [[Birdkateers]], who all have wings, but can't fly. Rosita is determined to find out what other things she can do with her wings. Rosita visits with [[Alan]], who is very hot from carrying boxes into [[Hooper's Store]]. She flaps her wings and it cools him off. Rosita then meets up with [[Tarah]] and discovers her wings help her move very fast. Rosita joins the Birdkateers, and they pretend to fly. Rosita shares with Maria all the things she can do with her wings, and then finds one more very important use.

 Maria catches Rosita trying to use her wings to fly like the birds. Rosita thinks that since everyone in her family has wings, she should be able to fly. But when Maria asks if any of Rosita's family members actually can fly, she realizes that none of them can. Rosita is upset about not being able to fly, so Maria takes her to someone who will understand how she feels ... someone who happens to be a big bird.
