Gina hears strange noises coming from Oscar's trash can. She finds Oscar's filling in for radio personality Rush Limburger on WCAN radio, setting up a broadcast from his can. He switches on one of the machines, cuing an announcer to present Oscar the Grouch as the day's emcee.

As Oscar delivers an opening message, Gina walks over to Hooper's Store, where Big Bird and Alan are searching the radio stations. She requests them to turn on WCAN, and they hear Oscar will be taking calls all day. His first one comes from Max in Milwaukee (David Rudman), who gets promptly hung up by Oscar before he can ask a question. Oscar states the show will return shortly...

Oscar's show starts, where he states he doesn't want to discuss any topic other than the letter G. Mona from Montag calls in to talk about the alphabet, listing every letter. Before she reaches the letter Z, Oscar hangs up the phone, but Mona calls back immediately afterwards to finish before she hangs up. Oscar admits how he likes this job.

Oscar instead leaves the phone with Telly while he goes to lunch.
