SCENE 1 Telly comes back, with a solution to Ruthie's "problem": first he explains that he imagined that he was the one Ruthie was going to meet today, and how angry he would be if she forgot. That's why Telly put a ribbon around his own wrist! Everything seems fine, until Telly wonders what would happen if he forgot to look at his own ribbon. Carlo passes by, and Telly enlists his help.

Carlo reluctantly does so, and then Telly subjects him to another test by asking him why he's wearing the ribbon.

Elmo doesn't need a ribbon to remember the sponsors or the status of Slimey's spaceship.
