SCENE 1
Elmo welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street. He feels happy about his play date with Telly today, until Telly shows up and reveals that he can't play with Elmo today because he has to visit his aunt. Elmo sees if Big Bird is available to play, but hears from Gabi that Big Bird is visiting his Granny Bird today. Gabi and Lexine can't play with Elmo either, because they have to go to school.

Elmo feels sad because there's no one to play with him. Then he spots Maria working at the Fix-it Shop and runs towards her, thinking she'll play with him ...

A group gives a newcomer funny looks, which hurts his feelings, but then they invite him to play marbles with them. He turns out to be a good player. (audible dialogue)

Elmo asks Maria if she's visiting anyone or going to school, and when she says she isn't, Elmo thinks they'll be able to play together all day, but Maria tells him that she has to fix a phone and some toasters. Elmo feels sad about being by himself, so Maria suggests that he could draw, and gives him some crayons and paper.

SCENE 6
Telly comes back and greets Elmo, but becomes upset when he sees that Elmo's busy drawing a picture. Elmo finishes the picture right then and there, which is a picture of himself and Telly. Telly likes the picture, so they start making funny faces. Maria announces the sponsors and reports on the status of Slimey's spaceship.
