Picture Segment Description


Big Bird goes for a walk and greets everyone he meets, singing "Walking Down My Street." He passes Hooper's Store, the Furry Arms Hotel, Gina's Day Care Center, Finders Keepers, Celina's Dance Studio, the playground, and Oscar's newsstand. As he finishes the song, Big Bird returns to his nest and gazes outside. "Sesame Street," he sighs. "Not just a street. A way of life. Home."

His book is called “My Favorite Place to Be” and chronicles the places he’s loves best, but each place in the book is not his #1 favorite place. He fusses over the lack of an ending and his mother comforts him. He realizes where his favorite place is – with his mom.

Film A girl goes to school somewhere in Africa. We see the girl getting ready to go to school, as she washes herself and brushes her teeth, puts on her clothes, brushes her hair, and takes her lunch, all with some help from her mother. We see her walking past her neighbors and watching her classmates play outside as she arrives at school. The bell rings and the girl enters the school, where the teacher is passing out chalk to her students. We see the teacher teaching the students the English words: "a boy", "a girl", "a man", "a woman," which she has written on the board, along with a drawing for each word. The students repeat the words, then write them down on their individual chalkboards as we hear the girl remark, "We are learning to read and write." The students then jump up and down, as the teacher looks on, smiling. Next, we see the students jumping outside excitedly, now that school has finished.

Celebrity John Moschitta, Jr. plays Porter Pepper of Peter Piper's "P" Products, which produces products that begin with the letter "P". He mentions that two of his clients were Peter Pan and Pablo Picasso until Peter Piper, the boss, gives him a phone call. Pepper now presents a new problem: Peter Piper's "P" Products has been purchased, and is now Sam Singer's "S" Stuff Store. Pepper, without stalling, summons his staff to stand by, switches his products to stuff, and searches for snacks and saucers.

SCENE 3 Tonight, Frazzle is sleeping over at Big Bird’s, with Gordon as a chaperone. Big Bird has Gordon read the book he wrote – “Albert the Flower Who Loved to Grow”, based on a true story. In the story, Big Bird’s little plant, Albert, grows at a fast rate, eventually bursting from his pot. He then placed Albert in the window box of Gordon and Susan’s apartment.

Contended, they both begin to sleep. Gordon announces the sponsors and reports that Slimey’s still on his way back home.
