Telly practices his tuba, as he will be performing with the Tuba Tune Tooters in the park at noon. He then receives a message from Norman, straight from The Grand High Triangle Lover himself. Telly has been invited to the Triangle Lovers Luncheon at the Furry Arms today and has been personally chosen to give a speech on the importance of triangles. However, the luncheon also begins at noon. How will Telly be able to be at both events?!
Telly explains his problem to Elmo and cuts him off every time he tries to give his solution. Telly thinks they can cooperate by putting Elmo in a Telly disguise and going to one event while Telly's at the other. Telly gets a better idea and drags Elmo along.
At the Furry Arms, Telly puts his plan into action. While Telly gives his speech, Elmo goes outside and counts to 40. Once he's done counting, he'll call out for Telly, giving an excuse for Telly to leave. Elmo steps outside while Telly begins his speech.
SCENE 3 cont'd
Outside, Elmo counts up to 40, then begins calling for Telly. Just when he reaches the crux of his speech, he runs out of the hotel, leaving all the attendees on the edge of their seats. Telly leads Elmo to the park.
SCENE 3 cont'd
Once at the park, Telly instructs Elmo to do the same thing again. Telly assumes his place in the tuba band and they begin playing. Once Elmo finishes counting, Telly runs off, leaving Howard stuck holding the same tuba note. Elmo and Telly head back to the Furry Arms.
Telly goes to resume his speech, but Elmo is tired of counting to 40. He instead says the alphabet. When he reaches Z, Telly follows the cue and they rush off back to the park.
SCENE 4 cont'd
Telly goes back to the band and plays some more music until Elmo gives him the signal. Just as they attempt to leave, Celina asks what's going on. She is told what Telly's doing and suggests he just bring the Triangle Lovers to the concert. Elmo argues that was his idea the entire time.
The Triangle Lovers have joined everyone in the park, where Telly gives passionate speech on how Triangle Lovers and Tuba Lovers can be friends. As the band plays the "Sesame Street Theme," Elmo announces the sponsors.
