	SCENE 1	Zoe and Carlo meet Linda and Barkley in the park. Linda uses sign language to tell Barkley to sit and roll over. Zoe thinks it would be nice to have a pet, and asks Linda if she can have Barkley. Linda says Barkley is her pet, so Zoe decides to find a pet of her own.

	SCENE 2	Zoe decides she will get a pet squirrel, so she stops one who is looking for nuts in the park. She tells it to sit, and it says it doesn’t do tricks. She tells it that it’s her pet now, and it can come live with her in her apartment. It says it lives in the park, and would be sad living in an apartment. Disappointed, Zoe realizes that she will have to find a different pet, so she’ll just give her bag of peanuts to someone else. As she is leaving, the squirrel tells her to wait—it will do anything for the peanuts—sit, roll over, beg—if she’d just come back!

	SCENE 3	At Hooper's Store, Zoe laments to Telly and Carlo that she still cannot find a pet. Then she asks Carlo to sit down, which he does, and if he is happy living in an apartment. She decides that he is her new pet. Telly says Carlo can’t be her pet because he has to work at the store and live with his parents in their apartment. Zoe then tells Telly that he will be here pet and tells him to sit. He says no, he doesn’t want to sit. She is sad, so he agrees to pretend to be her pet for a while.
