Two [[Honkers]] tell [[Big Bird]] (who tells [[Luis]]) of their dilemma - they have a doctor's appointment and their egg-sitter never showed up. Luis suggests they take the egg with them, but it could break on the subway. He then suggests that only one parent go, but they both need check-ups. He then gets an idea to have someone else watch the egg. He volunteers Big Bird, who takes the egg back to his nest to sit on it. Luis checks in on Big Bird, who needs to go to the bathroom, but cannot leave the egg alone. He asks Luis to sit on it while he's gone. Luis starts to feel silly sitting on the egg, when it begins shaking and cracking open, releasing a baby Honker. Big Bird finally comes back and they hear the Honker honk it's first word - "dada", believing Luis is his father. Luis sings a song to the baby Honker in Spanish, but Big Bird points out the baby may not like it and suggests he sing it in "honk". The baby honks along with him. Big Bird worries that the baby Honker is still calling Luis daddy, but Luis assures him when the parents arrive, the baby will know who his parents really are. Big Bird hears honking, which he guesses are the parents, but are just some kids riding their bikes. The real parents show up and want to take the baby home, but it clings to Luis instead. Big Bird gets an idea on how to convince the baby isn't his father. He has the baby compare the body parts Luis had and the Honkers have. The baby finally sees Luis isn't his father and the Honker family leaves.
