Big Bird and Gordon welcome the viewer, but are instantly hushed by an Anything Muppet woman, who tells them they'll scare the word away. She turns their direction behind them and they spot the word TOY atop the stoop. She takes its picture and introduces herself as President of the Wordabaun Word-Watching Society. She's hoping find spot the rare and elusive Green-Spotted-Hoping TOY and shows them its picture in her guidebook, as well as its trademark call. She has yet to see one, but has heard through the "word-vine" that it is somewhere on Sesame Street. Big Bird offers some help and they both go off, making the TOY's call.

While Gordon reads in the park, Big Bird and the word watcher continue to calling. Gordon then notices the word TOY crawling up his arm and onto his head. They compare it to the picture and learn it's not the TOY they're looking for; it is in fact the Purple-Striped, Head Napping TOY, who begins to take a nap on Gordon's head. The word watcher takes its photo and heads back on her quest, while Gordon is told the TOY's naps last about an hour.
