SCENE 2 | Mr. Handford serves Baby Bear his porridge. It is too hot and he goes off on his walk to wait for it to cool, warning Mr. Handford to be on the look-out for Goldilocks. Lo and behold, she enters Hooper's Store and eyes his porridge. Mr. Handford moves it away, saying she can't have it. She is upset; everywhere she goes there's always porridge for him and begs for just a tiny taste of his. Mr. Handford has her think of what could happen; eventually, Baby Bear would catch her and throw a fit. Mr. Handford offers her a bowl of granola instead, which she gladly accepts. Baby Bear returns and thinks she's pulling the same tricks on him again, but seeing his porridge is unharmed, he decides to eat, only if Goldilocks doesn't speak (he prefers to eat in silence). She doesn't say a word, but her granola munching proves to be very loud. | |
