Snuffy likes to pretend he's an opera singer when he hears that tape, and suggests that Gordon try pretending as well. Snuffy's mommy calls him over, and he tells Gordon to watch his tape player while he's gone. When Snuffy leaves, Gordon, out of curiosity, plays the tape and lip-synchs dramatically to it, not noticing that Snuffy and some kids have been watching him, until they applaud.

Cookie Monster tries to give the bug a little cookie if it'll go away. The bug refuses, buzzing even more strenuously. Cookie tries a big cookie, but it still refuses. Cookie offers an almond cookie, a raisin cookie, a pistachio nut cookie, and a crunchy granola cookie. He realizes that the little bug doesn't like cookies. All he has left is a letter Z. The bug is excited, and buzzes off with the Z.

Gordon explains to Grundgetta why it's important for Elmo to know how to read the sign, and then points out that it's time to say goodbye. Elmo repeats the word over and over as Gordon announces the sponsors.
