SCENE 1 Just as Telly is about to reveal today's letters, a rectangle appears and declares himself the "shape of the day." He gives a brief lecture about rectangles before moving along. Telly gets cut off thrice more by an apple (the fruit of the day), a pig (the animal of the day) and a shoe (the footwear of the day), who leads the rest in a dance number.
