The Count comes down with the Counting Flu, which makes him faint every time he counts something. Dr. Edwynn suggests that he avoid all counting until his symptoms go away. The Count is given a blindfold and earmuffs, so he can’t count anything he sees or hears, but he still imagines counting things.
