SCENE 1 | Telly talks to the viewer about all the things on Sesame Street he can be sure about every day: Oscar will always pop out of his can, Bob will always get his newspaper, Gordon will always come out of the brownstone, and Big Bird will always come out of his nest. When he doesn't immediately come out, Telly looks inside and finds Little Bird, which makes him think Big Bird has shrunk. Big Bird explains he hasn't shrunk - Little Bird is just staying at his nest for a while since she's thinking of moving to Sesame Street.

However, now it's time for their nap, and Little Bird can't sleep because of Big Bird's snoring. She remembers hearing that if someone is snoring, you can gently wake them up and they'll sleep in another direction. It works, but only briefly. She then tries to block out the sound by sleeping under the blanket, but she can barely breathe down there. She tells Big Bird that they can no longer be nestmates, but they can still be neighbors ("Like Mr. Rogers!").
