SCENE 1 Gina sees Oscar writing something and wants to know what it is, but he tells her to stay away from his trash can. She tries leaning against it to get a view and he finally relents. He explains that Grundgetta is visiting her aunt in Trashylvania and he's writing a letter about all the rotten things she might be missing. Gina assures him that nothing rotten has happened, or will. Oscar continues writing, detailing how Gina just ruined her shirt by leaning against his newly-greased can.

SCENE 2 Bob watches Oscar pace back and forth, trying to think of something else to write. Suddenly, Oscar gets an idea and the two sing a song about it ("I've Got an Idea"). However, Oscar won't tell Bob what it is.

SCENE 3 Oscar starts to write about what happened the previous day - a magic show by the Great Blechini. In the flashback, we see his act as he tries to pull a rabbit out of his hat. The trick partially works, but the rabbit refuses to come out and the two start arguing. Oscar writes that it was the best magic trick he's ever seen.

SCENE 4 Oscar goes on to describe the second part of Blechini's act. For the trick, he needs a volunteer and pulls Bob from the crowd. Blechini has Bob sing "One of These Things" and will make the item that doesn't belong disappear. Bob correctly guesses that the rabbit doesn't belong with the three dogs and Blechini tries to make it disappear, only it refuses to leave.

SCENE 5 Oscar writes more about Blechini's act, as he now performs a mind-reading trick. His subject is Telly Monster, who's holding a large, heavy weight about his head. Blechini correctly guesses that Telly is thinking about how heavy it is.

SCENE 6 Oscar writes about Blechini's grand finale - he will make trash appear where it never was before. With a wave of his wand and the magic words ("A la sour grapes"), some rotten shoelaces appear in Gina's pockets. Oscar concludes his letter and hopes it doesn't come across too mushy.

SCENE 7 Oscar asks Gina to put his letter into the mailbox. He also has a message for her from the Great Blechini - check your closet. Gina realizes what this means rushes home, while Oscar announces the sponsors.
