SCENE 1 Telly is going to write a story and has prepared for the unforeseeable by stocking up several dozen pencils, erasers, a bunch of pads of paper and two typewriters. Maria and Luis to try convince him he's going overboard again. He then can't decide what to write about, since he likes too many things and can't pick out a single topic. They suggest he sit and think for a while before settling on an idea.

David suggests he get some lunch too and even offers him the booth at Hooper's Store where no one can bother him.
