The main character solves conflicts between two giants fighting over who was going to take the first bite of an apple, and two girls fighting over who would first bounce a big red rubber ball. However, the conflict between two ogres arguing over who would get into a sleeping bag full of mashed bananas is too gross for Clever Bill to resolve, due to the second ogre saying that the other one got his part of the bargain by swimming in cabbage juice; but in the end, he says "Two out of three isn't bad."
