SCENE 1 In the early morning, an announcer (Martin P. Robinson) introduces the first episode of "Dreams of Our Lives," a window into the dreams of the residents of Sesame Street. First up is Big Bird, still asleep in his nest. He dreams himself as a teacher, who teaches his Birdketeer students (Bob, David, Gordon, Gina, and Uncle Wally) about the letter T and gets them to repeat the same musical tweets he makes. Back in reality, Gordon peers out of his window, notices Big Bird tweeting in his sleep, and wonders aloud what he is dreaming about - cueing the announcer to reply that Big Bird is having a 'tweet' dream.

SCENE 2 At Hooper's Store, Telly admits to David that he didn't get much sleep last night (worrying that he wouldn't be able to fall asleep). David asks him to answer the phone if it rings while he's in the basement. Telly soon falls asleep, cueing another chapter of "Dreams of Our Lives." Telly dreams that he's actually a telephone, with a set of dials on his chest. He finds it a fun experience when a Honker uses him to receive and make a call. Back in reality, David alerts Telly that his father is calling him on the phone and Telly tells 'Mr Telephone' to keep up the good work.

SCENE 3 Bob falls asleep in the yard while trying to come up with a rhyme for a song he's writing. "Dreams of Our Lives" takes inside his dream, where it's "Rhyme with Bobby Day." Gina and Uncle Wally drive him bananas making a rhyme for everything that he says. The announcer segues back to reality by rhyming along too, giving Bob inspiration for his next line (though he wonders where he got it from).

A high-pitched sports announcer (Camille Bonora) narrates as Uncle Wally takes a big jump, Gina takes a bigger jump and Slimey takes the biggest jump of all - leaping all the way from Oscar's trash can to the newsstand at Hooper's - winning the worm hopping crown.

The follow the beginning, middle and end until they find the big trash bag at the end of the rainbow. Back in reality, Bob sees Oscar subconciously throwing trash out of his can, and knocks to make sure he's okay. Oscar yells at Bob for waking him from his perfect dream.
