Luis tries to teach him "buenos días" but he keeps getting it wrong. Oscar the Grouch comes in and asks Luis if he would watch Irvine for the afternoon. Luis says he is busy, but finally agrees. Oscar says that Irvine will enjoy watching David blunder around trying to do something he's not good at.

David is excited to learn phrases he can say to Spanish-speaking customers at Hooper's Store. Snuffy returns to retrieve Alice, who greets him by saying "blech". David assures Snuffy that she'll probably forget the word on the way home, but Snuffy says snuffleupaguses never forget. Being a big brother isn't easy--not only does he have to teach her how to talk, he has to teach her how not to talk. Alice leaves with Snuffy, repeating the word "blech".

David and Luis say they didn't teach her anything, she just picked it up. Oscar tells them to be careful next time--"a smart little grouch like her is gonna pick up whatever she hears". Snuffy announces the sponsors, as Irvine repeats the phrase "muchas gracias".
