Luis tries to teach him "buenos días" but he keeps getting it wrong. Oscar the Grouch comes in and asks Luis if he would watch Irvine for the afternoon. Luis says he is busy, but finally agrees. Oscar says that Irvine will enjoy watching David blunder around trying to do something he's not good at.

They try to find toys for her to play with, but she says "blech" to each one. Luis finds a box of scrap wood blocks, which Irvine likes. David keeps trying to say "me llamo".

Snuffy says he got mixed up, but luckily, Luis doesn't look too busy. They bring Alice over to play with Irvine, who says "blech". David and Luis return to the lesson.

	SCENE 4	Luis gives David a sign to take home. It says "muchas gracias". He tells David to put it somewhere in his house and read it every time he sees it. David is excited to learn phrases he can say to Spanish-speaking customers at Hooper's Store. Snuffy returns to retrieve Alice, who greets him by saying "blech". David assures Snuffy that she'll probably forget the word on the way home, but Snuffy says snuffleupaguses never forget. Being a big brother isn't easy--not only does he have to teach her how to talk, he has to teach her how not to talk. Alice leaves with Snuffy, repeating the word "blech".

	Muppets	Grover the Assistant: Herbert Birdsfoot arranges three blocks for Grover to count. No matter how the blocks are arranged, they still add up to three. Herbert asks Grover to count some oranges as well. Grover confesses that he's good at counting blocks -- but he doesn't know how to count oranges! (EKA: Episode 0309)

Oscar reminds them that it isn't finished yet: it needs that one last grouch touch. Irvine knocks it down.

	SCENE 6	Luis puts the blocks into a box for Irvine to take home. She tells him "muchas gracias". Oscar tells Luis he has a lot of nerve teaching bad manners to a little grouch. David and Luis say they didn't teach her anything, she just picked it up. Oscar tells them to be careful next time--"a smart little grouch like her is gonna pick up whatever she hears". Snuffy announces the sponsors, as Irvine repeats the phrase "muchas gracias".

Notes

The Japanese broadcast omits an American Revolution sketch about the national bird debate.
