SCENE 1
At night, Big Bird, Elmo, the Count, Maria, and Luis are all having dinner outside of Hooper's Store. At the head of the table are Maria's mother, Mrs. Figueroa, and Luis' uncle, Tío José, who will be guests at the wedding in two days. Whenever Tío José tells stories of when Luis was a little boy, the Count counts up the wise, perceptive and intelligent things Luis said.
Just then, Big Bird introduces the viewers to the two visitors, and explains why they're here. It's been a great day so far, but it didn't start out great. When The Count counts four people trying to tell the story all at once, Maria and Luis proceed to take turns narrating a flashback ...
