SCENE 1 | Maria stops by the Fix-It Shop in the early morning to check on Luis and the stray kitten; she wakes up Luis when he doesn't notice his alarm clock going off. He asks her to get some solid cat food to see if the kitten is strong enough to eat any. As she makes her way to the store downtown, she runs into Elmo, then Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus, informing them about getting food for the kitten. The three think they can help bring food too and dash off.

Maria returns as the three argue over whose food is better. She tells them that kittens need kitten food, not what they've brought. She points out their food is also blocking the front door of the store (as evident by Luis' scream when he suddenly opens it). The three begin to eat their way through to the shop.

Maria does the feeding herself, and they all cheer when the kitten quickly gobbles up the food.
