SCENE 1 Susan's parents (played by Bill Cobbs and Frances Foster) arrive from Michigan to see Miles. They are eager to see their grandson for the first time, but he is (finally) sleeping. Miles' grandmother Dorothy wants to sneak a peek while he's asleep, but Miles' grandfather Lee thinks it wouldn't be a good idea. He has her imagine how disturbing it would be for Miles to be woken up by four adults peering over him from his crib, so they wait calmly for him to wake up. Soon, his cries are heard and Dorothy is off like a shot.

Snuffy eventually reveals that the trunk is full of sand from the Waikiki beach that his Granny Snuffle sent for them to play with!
