SCENE 1 Big Bird and Maria welcome the viewer when they come across Piri looking at the "Hooper's Store" sign, wondering why David's store would be called such. Big Bird doesn't understand why Piri can't remember Mr. Hooper, not taking into consideration the fact that he has only been on Sesame Street for a short time. After being reminded that Mr. Hooper died before Piri moved in, Big Bird shares a few memories and describes his old friend as being "like everybody's grandpa." Piri expresses an interest in learning about him, and Maria suggests Big Bird take him to his nest to show some of the special things he has to let him know what Mr. Hooper was like.

SCENE 7 Oscar arrives, but is disappointed that Telly has spelled "STOP" and is doing nothing now. He admits that he was hoping Telly would have taken out the POTS, SPOT, or even Oscar's lamp POST (to tie Spot's leash to). Telly apologizes and decides to play the game right, entering the can and getting everything Oscar wanted. Oscar listens to all the chaos inside as Piri announces the sponsors.

Notes[]

  • Big Bird's memories of Mr. Hooper, seen in still images, include Mr. Hooper taking Big Bird to the beach (though the image used is from a fantasy sequence in Episode 1443), assisting him with his lemonade stand (Episode 1300), teaching him how to pronounce his name (Episode 1307), and the Hooper Family Album. The letter is not specified as the time Big Bird went to camp since the week of episodes had originally aired during season 14, and had been repeated earlier during season 16 with Hooper's scenes being cut.
