Scooter's uncle, J.P. Grosse, comes to visit; he's planning to tear the theater down and build a junkyard -- "there's more money in real junk than this junk you got here." Kermit tells Gonzo that J.P. plans to tear the theater down, and Gonzo is thrilled; it sounds like a great act. Scooter tries to talk his uncle out of his plan, until J.P. offers him a job running the junkyard. Finally, J.P. decides not to tear the theater down -- it's going to fall down by itself soon enough.

Picture Description
Judycollins02
Cold Open: Guest star Judy Collins tells Scooter that she is ready for anything, a statement proven incorrect by an explosion delivered by Crazy Harry.
205-1
"The Muppet Show Theme": Gonzo's horn sounds like a flute.
205-2
For the opening number, Judy sings "Leatherwing Bat" with a Brown Bat, Harold, and the Singing Owl, each creature directing her to the next.
205-3
Backstage, Kermit the Frog finds J. P. Grosse, owner of the Muppet Theater, on an inspection tour. Kermit informs him that their attendance is up, revenue is up, and just about everything is up. But the theater, as J. P. states, is coming down. He plans on putting in a junkyard.
Pigsinspace205
Pigs in Space: The Swinetrek is preparing to make an electrifying mid-course correction maneuver! First Mate Miss Piggy attended school for just such a maneuver, and is therefore the most qualified to perform it. However, Captain Link Hogthrob is certain she'll forget which button to push, eventually leading to his pushing the button himself...the wrong button.
205-4
An Editorial by Sam the Eagle: Sam the Eagle announces that he is disassociating himself from the show.
205-5
J. P. interrupts Kermit's introduction with an examination of the stage floor. He claims that the rotten floor boards could have been prevented had Kermit wiped his wet feet before coming on stage.
205-6
Judy sings "I Know an Old Lady" as the Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly swallows many animals in an effort to capture the fly. Statler and Waldorf join in on the song.
205-7
Muppet News Flash: The Newsman's report catches on fire.
205-8
Miss Piggy finds J. P. to be strangely attractive. She introduces herself as the singing talent on the show, and sings for him. She sings "Call Me Irresponsible," or tries to anyway. When J. P. hears her request to "call me," he tells her that there is no money in hog calling.
Talktotrees
Link Hogthrob tries to sing "I Talk to the Trees," but the trees won't listen, and they wander off.
205-9
On the Planet Koozebane, Kermit interviews a Koozebanian Phoob, a delicious creature who has learned to adapt to his surroundings to avoid consumption.
205-10
UK Spot: Sam, believing Statler and Waldorf to be more distinguished than the other Muppets, has taken to the balcony to interview them. While he is able to interview Statler, both are unaware that Waldorf has fallen out of the box and is desperately clinging to its edge.
205-11
Judy and Rowlf the Dog perform a duet of "Do-Re-Mi."
205-12
Kermit tells Gonzo about J. P.'s plans to demolish the theater and put a junkyard in its place. Naturally, Gonzo thinks it's a great idea.
205-13
In a two-part sketch, The Swedish Chef shoots lettuce with a gun, first creating a salad and then Brussels sprouts. Later, he tries to shoot a coconut, but instead shoots a rubber chicken and gets hit by a coconut.
205-14
When Scooter learns that he will be out of a job if his uncle tears the theater down, he agrees to try and talk J. P. out of it. That is, until J. P. informs Scooter that he will be in charge of the junkyard. Scooter goes right to work demolishing the place.
205-15
Judy sings "Send in the Clowns" as the clowns dance.
205-16
At the closing, J. P. decides not to tear down the theater after all, as it's likely to fall in on its own anyway.

Notes

  • This is the first appearance of Scooter's uncle, who is mentioned often but rarely seen.
  • Judy's material was taped later than most of the episode, including the backstage plot and Pigs in Space.
  • This is the first time the closing credits continue to roll on the curtain call before returning to the closing footage.
