SCENE 1 Big Bird is about to welcome the viewer, but Forgetful Jones interrupts because he wants to welcome them. However, he forgets the street name despite Maria having told him earlier. Big Bird and Maria use the theme song to help remind him, but since they substitute the street's name when they reach it, Forgetful assumes they live on "Da-Da-Da-Da."

SCENE 2 Bob and Maria lounge in lawn chairs in the yard and plan on taking naps during their days off. Barkley joins them, but the big dog can't seem to settle down and get comfortable until Big Bird notices he doesn't have his cozy blankie. Meanwhile, Forgetful moseys in and continues to try to remember the street name. ("Welcome to the Boulevard of Broken Dreams...") Big Bird returns with three blankets for Barkley to choose from, and the grown-ups accept the others to help them rest. Forgetful now believes they live on "Everybody Sleepin' Street."

They let them fly out the window, and as soon as they get back into bed, Ernie (breaking the promise he made Bert that he'd go to sleep if they let the balloons go) asks Bert if the balloons are too cold up in the sky, and whether they'll end up in China. Frustrated, Bert throws a fit. Ernie asks him to keep it down.

SCENE 5 It's now evening time, and with help from Big Bird, Bob, and Maria, Forgetful finally remembers the street name and exclaims, "Welcome to Sesame Street!" However, Maria points out it's time to go, so he wants to say goodbye... and immediately forgets the street name again. The exasperated group leaves Forgetful struggling to come up with the street's name once more as Buster announces the sponsors.
