Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 Big Bird greets the viewers and says that he is going to a place called Camp Echo Rock. Then, the entire cast sings "Big Bird's Going to Camp."

Muppets Ernie and Bert: Ernie and Bert explore an Egyptian pyramid. Bert is excited, but Ernie is afraid. They see statues that look like them. Bert decides to explore a tunnel while Ernie looks at the statues, and then the Ernie statue starts tapping and talking to Ernie. But when Ernie calls Bert back to the room, the statue doesn't move. Ernie is scared until the statue starts singing Rubber Duckie with him. Bert doesn't believe Ernie, until he says "Bye-bye, statue," and the statue replies "Bye-bye!" and laughs... just like Ernie.

SCENE 2 Big Bird is sad because he realizes that Snuffy isn't going to camp with him. The adults are sad too, because they are going to miss Big Bird. Big Bird suggests that maybe he shouldn't go, but they help him to feel better. He then returns to his nest and reassures Snuffy that it's okay to be sad... which is also a good reason for the both of them to cry together.
Cartoon Vaudeville duo Herman Happy and Stanley Sad sing a song about how they live up to their names. (applause added)

SCENE 6 Big Bird arrives at Camp Echo Rock, meets the camp director Aunt May, played by Marilyn Sokol, and is assigned to Cabin 10. After everyone is introduced by Aunt May and doing the Echo Rock Handshake for the first time, they all go into their cabins to unpack. Aunt May announces the sponsors.
