Mopatop opens the episode by offering some purple string, a thing on a spring or a frog that sings.

Ollie and Sophie come into the shop to get a red and a blue balloon. Unfortunately, Lamont hasn't arrived with the new shipment of balloons yet, so there's only one yellow balloon in stock. Ollie and Sophie starts to fight about who gets to hold the balloon. Puppyduck tries to calm them down without any luck. They end up blowing it up. Ollie starts to cry over the balloon, and he doesn't want to be friends with Sophie any more. Sofie asks Mopatop and Puppyduck what she can do to make him feel better. Puppyduck gives Sofie a strawberry jam sandwich, which always cheers her up, but that doesn't work with Ollie. Then they try to have the singing frog sing a song for Ollie. It turns out that all Ollie wanted was for Sophie to apologize to him. They leave the shop as friends, without balloons, to go home and roll in the mud.
