- The Ed Grimley character (that Martin plays in one skit) was originated by Martin in the '80s when he was a performer on SCTV and Saturday Night Live.
- Martin also appeared as Irving Cohn, an old vaudevilian character he has played many times, including regularly on his show Primetime Glick.
- This episode was originally scheduled to air a week after Episode 106: Tony Bennett, but the show was then canceled and not shown again for a few months.
