SCENE 1 In the early hours of the morning, Luis strolls over to the Fix-It Shop and discovers that the door is already unlocked. He hears some sounds coming from within and suspects a robber is in the store, and leaves to call the police. The two officers arrive to catch the culprit; one orders for them to come out with their hands out while they both draw their pistols at the ready. The culprit turns out to be... Maria, who also got in early to work on Mrs. Miller's radio! Luis sheepishly invites the cops for some coffee, relieved that Maria isn't a criminal.

SCENE 3 Big Bird feels like having a friendly chat with somebody and designates Linda as his conversation partner. Linda, however, is unable to talk as she's carrying packages in her arms. Linda tries to communicate with him, but Big Bird takes it as her wanting to ignore him and gets upset. Maria intervenes and explains that Linda needs her hands to talk, but can't do it when she's busy using them. Maria holds Linda's packages so she can give Big Bird a hug.

SCENE 4 Luis, Maria, Linda, Big Bird, and the kids are planning a surprise birthday party for Mr. Hooper in the yard while he's busy inside his store. They concoct a plan to keep it a surprise: they'll each separately buy something for the party to keep him from catching on, then Big Bird ensures he stays inside the store until they're done setting things up. Each time someone goes in to get something Mr. Hooper questions if somebody is having a party, which Big Bird overhears and causes him to go into a panic that the storekeeper will find out about the plan.

SCENE 4 cont'd Big Bird goes in to try to stall for time while everybody is setting up, but he again worries that the plan has been foiled by Mr. Hooper. Instead, the party turns into a big surprise as Mr. Hooper had forgotten the occasion himself. Everyone congratulates Big Bird on making the party a success.
