SCENE 1 Big Bird wakes up early ready to play, finding his stickball bat near Oscar's trash can. He rallies Susan and Gordon for a stickball game, but they have to go to work. The older kids can't play either since they're headed for school. Big Bird starts brainstorming about the things he can do by himself at home, and is surprised to find that there's actually a lot of fun things he can do instead of just hanging around his nest moping. Luis shows up and tells Big Bird he has some time to play with him before opening the Fix-it Shop, but Big Bird hands him the stick and says he’ll be too busy to play with him.

Notes[]

  • The original script has a different scenario for Gordon's picture during scene 5. In the proposed scene, Big Bird encounters Gordon painting a picture with embedded figures of Big Bird, Kermit, Cookie Monster, and Grover. Big Bird also spies Herry Monster in the painting, but Gordon doesn’t remember placing Herry in the painting; Herry comes to life in the painting and wonders who painted him as well.
