SCENE 1 Bob, Gordon, and Big Bird arrive for some breakfast at Hooper's Store, but they notice that the store hasn't been opened at its usual time. It's still dark inside, and Big Bird's imagination goes wild when he believes that Mr. Hooper has been abducted by space creatures. Moments later, a yawning Mr. Hooper explains that he had stayed overnight to study for one of his GED tests and had fallen asleep. Big Bird is relieved that the creatures didn't take him away, and everybody piles into the store for some breakfast.

The deliveryman finds it ridiculous to play a game with furniture (further baffled when they suddenly break into song with ambient music) until he sees how the four chairs all belong together. When Big Bird comes by, the deliveryman becomes even more flabbergasted.

Mr. Hooper goes ahead and starts to make the sundae (Big Bird doesn't know how) when Bob stops by to ask Mr. Hooper for some orange juice. Big Bird finds this rude: "Can't you see he's studying?"
