The doctor asks what Sam wants with him, and the mean hombre says that his finger is really itchy -- it's driving him crazy. Is it a mosquito bite? Should he use some lotion on it? SCENE 2 Mr. Hooper shows Susan his new set of headphones with a built-in radio; they're made so he's the only one who will be able to listen to it. Susan leaves as Mr. Hooper settles down in the yard, listening to his music and reading the newspaper. Just behind him, Mr. Snuffleupagus comes out of the garage and hopes to meet one of Big Bird's friends today - namely Mr. Hooper. The storekeeper is completely oblivious to Snuffy, who decides to get in front of him to get his attention. It doesn't help as Mr. Hooper decides to cover his head with the newspaper and take a nap. When Snuffy tries prodding him with his snuffle, Mr. Hooper grabs it and uses it as a pillow. Snuffy decides to join him, assuming Mr. Hooper wants a nap buddy.

SCENE 3 Big Bird comes to Mr. Hooper to tell him that there's a long-distance phone call for him inside Hooper's Store. Mr. Hooper rushes through the front door, once again missing the elusive Snuffleupagus. Big Bird is surprised to see Snuffy there, and thrilled to find out that he "met" Mr. Hooper. Snuffy leaves to go home for lunch, and Big Bird thanks Mr. Hooper for being nice to his friend. Mr. Hooper denies such a thing as ever happening, believing once again that the Snuffleupagus is imaginary. Big Bird gets angry, saying, "Well, how would you like to have Mr. Snuffleupagus go around and tell everybody there's no such thing as a Mr. Stooper?!" before storming off. Mr. Hooper tries to relax again, but wonders where his "pillow" went.
