The last item is meant to rhyme with "rugs," so Oscar and Maria are confused when Marcia appears in Maria's arms. Since Oscar wanted the product of each trick, he gets hugs from Marcia.

He does, then declares that he has recited the alphabet one time. Everyone catches on to his plan to count recitations of the alphabet, but they instead challenge him not to count at all. The Count declares, "I can not count if I want to not count," so Susan challenges him to prove it. He agrees and promises not to count for the rest of the day, when Luis closes the shop.
