He sprays water on Susan's basket of clothes, claiming that he's able to store some water just in case he gets thirsty. As he trudges off, Susan comes back and holds Big Bird responsible for getting her clothes wet, telling him to hang all the laundry back up.

SCENE 4 Big Bird jauntily makes his way to Hooper's Store and bumps into the closed front door. He sees the whole store is closed and wonders where Tom could be. He imagines Tom must have gotten captured by a ferocious monster (Herry, who mercilessly tickles him), or has fallen ill and must stay home (while still terrorized by the monster). As he rushes around in a panic, he bumps into Tom, who simply overslept today. Big Bird is upset that Tom was sleeping away while he was worried sick about him.
