Knowing Oscar, Susan expresses concern about not liking what Oscar's laughing about. They go along their business and the couple begins to find some clues: Gordon finds one of his socks on the ground, which was hanging on the clothesline. Gordon attributes this to the wind, but then discovers his shirt on the fire hydrant. They find a really big clue: Big Bird's feathers.

In the yard they find Big Bird all tied up in the clothesline (with a red sock dangling from his beak). Big Bird explains he was walking along not watching where he was going and got all tangled up. Gordon tells Big Bird that next time, he should watch where he's going. Big Bird promises to do so, only to crash into something else as he retrieves his laundry basket.

When Mr. Hooper questions if this was in the interest of science, Marty says it is for science... and his tummy!
