SCENE 1 Big Bird welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street, and tries to remember today's letter. He's prepared to piece together a circle and a tail on the wall to make the letter, but he puts them together in different ways that don't look right. He then decides to throw the tail away and talk about the letter O. The tail jumps out of the wastebasket and makes its way to the O, forming the letter Q.

In the story, Queen Quinella, who lives in a Q-shaped palace and owns everything Q related, wants to give her fortune away to someone who loves the letter Q as much as she does. She meets a duck named Quincy and asks him some questions, which he answers with more Q words. She likes him so much that she gives him her entire fortune — a quarter.
