Big Bird teaches the kids that "Everyone Makes Mistakes" in the season 2 premiere. Grover, Herry Monster and Sherlock Hemlock are introduced in this episode, and Farley can be glimpsed when Cookie Monster eats Big Bird's J. The Buddy and Jim segments are replaced with new segments featuring Larry and Phyllis.

Gordon finds Ernie and Bert arguing over which of them is taller. As a solution, Gordon lifts Ernie up so he's taller than Bert, yet he's outsized by Big Bird.

SCENE 2
After Mr. Hooper spills a glass of milk, Big Bird sings "Everyone Makes Mistakes", followed by a parade of kids, Gordon, Susan and Bob. Oscar makes two brief cameos. When Big Bird climbs into his nest, he accidentally steps on a letter J, which the cast passes around.

SCENE 3
Continuing from Scene 2, the cast throws the J from person to person. Cookie Monster finally eats the J.

Larry and Phyllis try to sing, but Larry can only make a honking sound while Phyllis can only make a beeping sound.

Ernie and Bert: Ernie declares that he's "the world's greatest counter of numbers". To prove it, he counts from 1 to 10-- but every time Bert interrupts him, Ernie starts over again. This slowly drives Bert crazy. (EKA: Episode 0107)
The last few seconds with Bert banging his head and running to the camera screaming was cut on this episode.
SCENE 4
Susan and Bob play "One of These Things" with Grover.

This scene includes a blooper in which Bob accidentally gets Grover's name wrong. After Bob makes a joke of it, the game continues.

SCENE 5
Oscar the Grouch's grandmother, Granny Grouch, comes to visit. Granny Grouch likes to kiss Oscar on the cheek, because he hates it so much.

The stars of Bonanza -- Michael Landon, Lorne Greene, and Dan Blocker -- count up to 20.

Grover, lost in a scary forest, sings "I Whistle a Happy Tune" to keep his spirits up. He bumps into a monster -- but it's Cookie Monster, who happily joins in the song. Then they run into a little boy, and they run away, panicked.

Big Bird almost gets hit by a car; Gordon tells him he should not cross the street until the traffic light turns green.
