SCENE 1 Word makes its way around the street from the grown-ups and the kids (including Brynne, Jill, and Jay) that Pete Seeger is visiting today. Gordon relays the message to one last person... Pete himself! Bob, Mr. Hooper, Gordon, Susan, Jennie, and the kids gather outside Hooper's Store as Pete plays the banjo and sings "The Green Grass Grew All Around." Pete asks Mr. Hooper for a glass of "Adam's ale" and notes that a lot of people in the country still get their water from a well. He sings a duet of "There's a Hole in the Bucket" with Susan. At the song's conclusion, Gordon introduces someone else who would like to play some music for Pete.

(Blooper: as Jay relays the message to Gordon, he refers to him as "Matt.")

He sings "Everybody Loves Saturday Night," teaching the verses to the kids in different languages.

Pete notes that each patch must have been part of a different dress and sings "Will You Wear Red," a song about a girl who can't make up her mind what dress to wear. He rhymes with whatever color his friends name; Susan stumps him with the suggestion of "lavender." Gordon observes that animals don't have to pick out clothes - they already have plenty of covering.
