Jennie offers to teach him how to draw. Big Bird attempts to draw the sun, but it looks more like a window (which the sun is shining into). He then attempts to draw a house, but it's just a group of trees (the house is hidden by the forest). Jennie reassures him that he's still capable of learning.

SCENE 4 Gordon notices a washboard and tub and a clothesline hanging outside Oscar's trash can. Oscar explains that his washer-dryer-folder-putter-awayer broke down. Gordon invites him to join the art contest, and Oscar digs up some cartoons he drew for the Daily Grouch and has Gordon guess what happened here. Scenarios include a boy with a broken wagon and kids stuck in the rain. Gordon doesn't think the cartoons are very funny, but then again, he's not a grouch. Oscar's socks are dry, so Oscar decides to hang up his newly-washed floor to dry by handing Gordon several pieces of it to hang up.
