SCENE 10 The art contest is underway. Big Bird displays some drawings he did and asks Jennie to point out what's wrong in them. Big Bird thinks he's no good at drawing, when Susan gets an idea: they'll all combine elements from Big Bird's "wrong" pictures and turn it into a better-looking one. What develops as each person suggests elements to add is a drawing of Big Bird himself: a pair of eyes from a face in Susan's drawing become Big Bird's eyes; the V in Mr. Hooper's drawing becomes Big Bird's beak, a tree trunk, Big Bird's neck and so on. When the picture is finished, everybody says it's wonderful, and Big Bird gets the first prize in the art contest.
