Elmo I Surmuleland is the Danish title for The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland. Elmer i Gnavpotland have been used as an alternative title on some TV listings and libraries.
The movie was a direct-to-video release in Denmark, distributed on both VHS and DVD July 7, 2000. Only the VHS was dubbed in Danish, while the DVD came with the English and German soundtrack. Since Sesame Street doesn't have the same popularity as in other countries, the character names are not consistent in the various releases in Denmark. That explains why Elmo is not named Elmer in the movie, like he was when Elmo's World (Elmers Verden) later was dubbed into Danish.
