Elmo Says BOO! is a 1997 Sesame Street direct-to-video compilation celebrating Halloween. Elmo visits the Count's castle to tell him funny scary jokes. Classic Sesame Street segments are separated with new joke segments set in the castle's exterior, featuring one Sesame Street character and a child, and interior, featuring the Count, Elmo, and some combination of the Bats, the Skeleton, a painting of the "Groana Lisa," a suit of armor and the Count's pipe organ.

	FRAME 1	Elmo arrives at the Count's castle to tell him some spooky jokes and gets frightened by the surroundings. Elmo tries to knock, but the knocker activates itself. Before the Count opens the door, they exchange a knock-knock joke, making it the first joke on The Count' list. As he brings Elmo inside, the door shuts itself too.
	FRAME 1 cont'd	In the castle, The Count asks Elmo what a ghost's favorite desert is. A ghost swoops in with the punchline ("Boo-berry pie!"), frightening Elmo. The joke tickles the funny bone of a skeleton, who used to sing a song with The Count...

	FRAME 2	Baby Bear tells a girl a scary joke from one of the Count's balconies.
	FRAME 2 cont'd	The Count and Elmo get a good laugh from Baby Bear's joke. Elmo tells another joke, which makes a painting of the Countess Groan-a Lisa laugh as well. The Count assures Elmo he shouldn't be scared. Elmo shows he's well acquainted on the topic of being scared...

	FRAME 3	Rosita tells a girl the infamous "boo-who" knock-knock joke.
	FRAME 3 cont'd	The Count's organ begins playing itself and tells a joke. It then says a monster song is coming. Elmo claims he's familiar with the song...
	Muppets	Four monsters, including Elmo, sing "We Are All Monsters". (redubbed version) (First: Episode 2731)
	FRAME 4	Joey and Davey Monkey rush over to Nicky and ask him "What did the ghost give the monkeys?" What else? "BOO-NANAS!" The two monkeys crack up, while Nicky rolls his eyes.
	Muppets	Ernie and Bert explore an Egyptian pyramid. Bert is excited but Ernie is afraid. They see statues that look like them. Bert decides to explore a tunnel while Ernie looks at the statues, and then the Ernie statue starts tapping and talking to Ernie. But when Ernie calls Bert back to the room, the statue doesn't move. Ernie is scared until the statue starts singing "Rubber Duckie" with him. Bert doesn't believe Ernie, until he says "Bye-bye, statue," and the statue replies "Bye-bye!" and laughs... just like Ernie. 	FRAME 5	Elmo and The Count listen to a joke by his suit of armor, Sir Count-a-Lot, bringing the joke total to 8.

	FRAME 6 cont'd	The Count's bats get their turn to tell a joke, which is a baseball bat pun. Elmo thinks they tell great jokes and The Count adds they sing great as well...
	Muppets	The Count sings "The Batty Bat". (First: Episode 2096)
	FRAME 7	Telly asks a girl what kind of bat is part of the circus. "An acro-bat!" He gets such a kick from the joke, he tells it again.
	FRAME 7 cont'd	Elmo and The Count begins to recite several more jokes until they get tuckered out and can't think of any more. The organ suggests they go to the kitchen for some screech cobbler. Elmo adds the pun to the joke list, making 15 jokes. He does a Count-like laugh and summons some thunder, scaring him into the kitchen.
