Elmo's New Laugh is a 1999 Sesame Street book-and-tape set.
Elmo is in a gloomy mood, and Big Bird tells him he could use a good laugh. Elmo misunderstands and goes around Sesame Street trying to imitate the laughs of his friends, but none of them are right for him. Big Bird clarifies that he wanted to cheer Elmo up and give him a good laugh. Elmo explains that he's sad because he lost Baby David, who Big Bird points out was in Elmo's backpack the whole time. Elmo is overcome with surprise and lets out a big Elmo laugh.
The story is narrated by Bob McGrath, and features the voices of Kevin Clash (Elmo), Fran Brill (Zoe), Jerry Nelson (The Count), Frank Oz (Grover and Bert), Martin P. Robinson (Snuffleupagus and Telly Monster), and Caroll Spinney (Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch). The tape also includes the song "You Tickle Me."
