Ellen DeGeneres (b. 1958) is a stand-up comedienne, actress, talk show host (The Ellen DeGeneres Show), and former judge on American Idol.

DeGeneres appeared on Sesame Street in the 1990s with Elmo for a skit about the similarity of their names (YouTube), and in another to share a set of headphones playing "Put Down the Duckie," and to dance together. (YouTube)

She appeared again in Episode 4140 to present "ballet" as the Word of the Day.

In 2003, she voiced Dory in Pixar's Finding Nemo.

Her successful talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show (2003-present) welcomed its first Muppet-related guest, Kermit the Frog, on November 9, 2011.
