The Eel appears in the Sesame Street sketch Squeal of Fortune. He asks host Pat Playjacks if the game is Eel of Fortune.

The same Eel puppet also appeared in the early 1980's, singing "May I Be Your Friend?" with Big Bird. He was performed here by Brian Muehl. The song is featured in the 1988 View-Master Interactive Vision game Oscar's Letter Party.
