Ed Asner

Ed Asner (b. 1929) is an Emmy award-winning actor best known for playing Lou Grant, first on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and then on his own Lou Grant spin-off series. In the early 90s, Asner began a prolific second career as a voice-over artist on animated series, including Superman, The Simpsons, Spider-Man, and Batman: The Animated Series.
Asner performed the "Evil Georgie" voice in the Dinosaurs episode "Georgie Must Die."
Other credits include voicing Jabba the Hutt in a radio version of Star Wars, playing Santa Claus in Elf, and playing Bette Midler's father in Stephen Sondheim's Gypsy.
