"East of the Sun (and West of the Moon)" was sung by Christopher Reeve and Miss Piggy on episode 418 of The Muppet Show. Their duet, with Reeve on piano, took the place of what was meant to have been Piggy's solo of "Never Before, Never Again" with Rowlf at the piano, until Piggy fixed the situation so that Rowlf would be unable to play, making the spot available for Reeve. Despite her advances and having gone out of her way at Rowlf's expense, Reeve does manage to get away with a few quips about her weight before the song is done.
The song, a jazz standard, has also been covered by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Diana Krall.
