Palisades Muppet Figures | |
Character | Dr. Bunsen Honeydew |
Date | Spring 2002 |
Series | 1 |
At 5" tall, the Dr. Bunsen Honeydew Action Figure was released in the first series of Muppet Show action figures produced by Palisades Toys as part of the show's 25th anniversary marketing campaign. This figure was the first figural toy of Bunsen.
The fully articulated Robot Rabbit pack-in was based on the Steel Rabbit from episode 202 of The Muppet Show. The Muppet Labs book contains a shopping list and a game of Tic-Tac-Toe.
Unlike the prototype (photos of which were used in marketing), Bunsen's glasses only attached to his face at the ears. The delicate, thin plastic made for an easily breakable item, leaving Bunsen without his ocular assistance.
Bunsen's partner, Beaker, was released with the Muppet Labs Playset. The duo were later released as a pair in the Stepping Out Bunsen and Beaker Action Figures Wizard World East exclusive.
