"Don't Waste Water" is a Sesame Street film segment about the importance of water. Jerry Nelson sings the song over several scenes with people using water, such as to take a bath or to turn on a sink.
In a 2000 episode of Sesame Street, Telly, Elmo, Luis and Big Bird sang parts of the song.
It is a spoof of "Cool Water" by Bob Nolan, which was a hit in 1948 for The Sons of the Pioneers.
