"Don't Go Away Without Me" is a song sung by Ernie and Bert. Ernie sees Bert carrying a suitcase. Not knowing that Bert is taking it in to the suitcase repair shop, Ernie thinks that Bert is leaving on a long trip without him, and Ernie starts to feel very sad. So he sings a song to Bert, about how it won't be the same without him, and that he'll miss him a lot. Finally, Bert is able to tell him that he's not going on a trip, but he'd like Ernie to go with him to the repair shop. Feeling tired from singing the song, Ernie decides to go take a nap.
